The library platform swisscovery goes into operation on 7 December 2020. Up to one million users will be able to access over 40 million books, series, journals and non-book materials as well as over three billion electronic articles – all through one single platform. The gateway to swisscovery is the SWITCH edu-ID. University members and other users can now log in to swisscovery using a universal and indefinitely valid digital ID provided by SWITCH.

Universal login

More than 300,000 people already have a SWITCH edu-ID account. This gives them access to around 1,400 university-related services. This now also includes swisscovery. If you do not yet have a SWITCH edu-ID account, you can create one free of charge at any time and link it directly to your own university in order to benefit from widespread access.

SWITCH edu-ID

The SWITCH edu-ID is a personal digital ID for all university members and other users. It can be used universally at all universities and beyond, for example for swisscovery. The SWITCH edu-ID never expires and supports life-long learning. The data remains in Switzerland and is covered by Swiss data protection provisions.
